How to Make a WhatsApp Sticker Pack with Animated and Static Stickers

Want one WhatsApp sticker pack that mixes moving stickers with regular still ones? You can build it in a few minutes. With Sticked, you add both animated and static stickers to the same pack, then export the whole pack to WhatsApp at once — free, and no design skills needed.

This guide shows you how to make the pack, add both sticker types, and get it into your WhatsApp tray.

What You Need

  • The Sticked app (free on Android and iOS)
  • Photos for your static stickers
  • Short video clips for your animated stickers
  • A phone with WhatsApp installed

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Create a new pack

Open Sticked and tap Create Pack. Give the pack a name — this is the name you will see in WhatsApp's sticker tray.

2. Add your static stickers

Tap the + button and add still images:

  • Gallery — pick any photo from your phone
  • Take Picture — take a photo now
  • Text — make a text sticker with fonts and colors

For each photo, Sticked can remove the background with one tap, so you get a clean cutout. See how to turn a photo into a sticker for the full walk-through.

3. Add your animated stickers

Tap + again. Choose Shoot Video to record a new clip, or Gallery to pick a video you already have. Trim it to the part you want, and Sticked turns it into an animated sticker that loops in chat. You can add several animated stickers to the same pack. For more on this, read how to make circle video stickers.

Your pack can now hold both types together — still stickers and moving stickers, side by side.

4. Edit and finish the pack

Tap any sticker to open its editor. The controls depend on the sticker type:

  • Photo stickersremove the background with one tap for a clean cutout, then add an outline: No border, White border, or Black border.
  • Video stickerstrim the clip to the part you want, then pick a square or circle shape.

A WhatsApp pack needs at least 3 stickers and allows up to 30. Mix as many static and animated stickers as you like inside those limits.

5. Export the pack to WhatsApp

Tap the share button and choose WhatsApp. Sticked prepares the whole pack for you:

  • Resizes every sticker to 512×512 pixels
  • Converts each sticker to WhatsApp's format
  • Generates a tray icon
  • Opens WhatsApp's sticker importer

Tap Add to WhatsApp and the pack appears in your sticker tray, ready to send.

Can One WhatsApp Pack Hold Both Animated and Static Stickers?

Yes — with one detail worth knowing. WhatsApp treats a pack as either a still pack or an animated pack, not a mix of separate items.

So when your Sticked pack contains any animated sticker, Sticked exports the whole pack as an animated WhatsApp pack. Your static stickers still show up in the same pack — they simply appear as still images next to the ones that move. You do not create two packs and you do not lose any stickers. Everything ships together in one tray.

If a pack has only still images, Sticked exports it as a normal static pack instead.

Tips for a Better Pack

  • Keep clips short — the video editor caps each clip at 3 seconds, and a short loop reads best and stays under WhatsApp's size limit
  • Simple images read best — busy backgrounds are hard to see at sticker size
  • Use the background remover — clean cutouts look more professional
  • Test in a chat — send a few to yourself to check how the mix looks at small size

Ideas for a Mixed Pack

  • Reaction pack — animated laughing and crying stickers, plus still selfies for quick replies
  • Pet pack — a looping video of your dog, plus still photos of its best faces
  • Event pack — an animated countdown, plus static photos from the day
  • Inside jokes — moving memes next to still ones for your group chat
